Nefarious Success privileged intents
Effective September 12, 2026 · Last updated September 12, 2026
Paste pack for Discord’s Privileged Intent form for Nefarious Success (application ID 966614821174915092). These answers match the running bot: it reads one success channel so it can repost images to X and score a leaderboard. They are not MEE6’s answers.
Apply for Message Content only. Do not check Server Members or Presence.
01Intent matrix
- Message Content — YES. The bot must read image attachments and optional caption text in the designated success channel to upload them to X and award a point, and must read prefix commands (!sp, !scl, !sclm, !sclw, !scly) to show points and leaderboards. Discord does not deliver attachments, content, or command text without this intent.
- Server Members — NO. The bot does not assign or sync roles and does not listen for join, leave, or member-update events. Moderator checks for tweet deletion use a REST member fetch, which does not require the privileged Server Members intent.
- Presence — NO. The bot never reads online status, devices, or streaming activity.
02Application details (paste)
What does your application do?
Nefarious Success is a community engagement bot for the Nefarious trading Discord. When a member posts an image (typically a success or P&L screenshot) in one designated public channel, the bot reads that message so it can (1) download the image and any caption the member typed, (2) publish them as a public post on the Nefarious X/Twitter account we operate, and (3) award one leaderboard point to that member. Members can view their own points and paginated all-time, weekly, monthly, and yearly leaderboards with the prefix commands !sp, !scl, !sclm, !sclw, and !scly. The original author or a moderator can react with a trash emoji to delete the X post, remove the point, and delete the related Discord messages. The bot does not assign Discord roles, does not read presence or online status, and does not scan messages outside the designated channel except when a member runs a points or leaderboard command.

03Message Content intent (paste)
Why do you need the Message Content intent?
Message Content is required for the bot's only features: - Success reposts: Discord does not deliver image attachments or the optional caption on messages unless this intent is enabled. The bot watches one designated channel, downloads the image the member just posted, includes any caption they typed, publishes that post on our X/Twitter account, and awards one leaderboard point. - Prefix commands: members type !sp (their points) and !scl / !sclm / !sclw / !scly (leaderboards). Those commands are ordinary messages; without Message Content the bot cannot see the command text and cannot reply. The bot does not scan other channels for content, does not run auto-moderation, and does not use message text to train machine-learning or AI models. Without this intent, members cannot share a success screenshot to X or check the leaderboard.

Can users opt-out of having their message content data tracked?
Yes. Yes. The bot only reads content in one designated success channel (when a member posts an image) and when a member runs a points/leaderboard command. Members opt out by not posting in that channel and not using those commands. There is no always-on scan of the rest of the server.
Are you storing message content data off-platform?
Yes. Yes, for posts the member chose to share: the image and optional caption are published on X/Twitter and remain public until the member or a moderator deletes them. We do not keep a separate local archive of message bodies. Locally we store Discord user IDs, display names, X post IDs, timestamps (points), and processed message IDs for deduplication.
Will the message content data be used to train machine learning or AI models?
No.
04Off-platform API Data (paste)
If the form asks these under Members (it may still appear when you store API Data for any intent):
- Storing API Data off-platform? Yes (Discord user IDs, display names, points, X post IDs).
- 30 days or less? No. Points (Discord user ID, display name, X post ID, timestamp) and processed message IDs are kept until the related post is deleted, the member asks us to erase their record, or we reset the leaderboard. Public X posts last until deleted.
- Deletion contact: Business@nefarious.trading (Business@nefarious.trading).
- Encrypting at rest? Discord requires encryption at rest if you store API Data. Select Yes only if the host volume that holds points.json is actually encrypted (for example BitLocker, LUKS, or your NAS encryption). Do not check Yes if the file sits unencrypted on disk.
05Do not apply for Members or Presence
Leave Server Members and Presence unchecked. The bot does not assign roles, welcome members, track invites, or read online/streaming status. Delete-permission checks use a REST member fetch when someone clicks 🗑️ — that is not the privileged Guild Members gateway intent.

1. Image in #success → tweet + point (needs Message Content)
A member posts an image (and optional caption) in the success channel. Discord only gives the bot that attachment and caption if Message Content is enabled. The bot uploads the image to X and replies with a linked “Success posted on Twitter!” embed, the new point total, and a 🗑️ reminder.

2. !scl leaderboard (needs Message Content)
Prefix commands are ordinary messages. Without Message Content the bot cannot see !scl / !sp and cannot show ranks. Points are Discord user IDs + counts — not Presence, not role assignment.
