Nefarious News Terms

Nefarious News is an operator-run newsfeed, not a public App Directory product and not a command bot. Operators configure two Discord channel ids. The process:

• Polls the Ainvest newswire and Moomoo flash list on a short interval and posts unseen headlines to the main news channel.
• Listens to a Benzinga web feed and posts those headlines to a separate Benzinga channel.
• Builds a Discord embed (author Nefarious Newsfeed, footer “Developed by enickfutures • nefarious.investments”). Ordinary items use a gold bar and put the headline in the description; Ainvest/Moomoo items marked important use a red bar and put the headline in the title. Benzinga items are never flagged breaking in code.
• Forwards only Ainvest breaking headlines to a configured Telegram chat. Normal items stay on Discord.

The bot does not take trade tickets, does not execute orders, and does not reply to member commands. Source publications remain the publishers’ property; we republish short headlines for community awareness.

Nefarious News runs on Discord. Your use of Discord is governed by Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Nothing here overrides Discord. We may remove the bot, rotate tokens, or change destination channels to stay within Discord’s platform rules, including privileged-intent and message-content limits.

Telegram, when enabled for breaking Ainvest items, is governed by Telegram’s terms. Ainvest, Moomoo, and Benzinga are third-party sources; their sites and APIs have their own terms.

Headlines posted by Nefarious News are not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice and are not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, future, option, crypto asset, or other instrument. Nefarious and the operators of this bot are not registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, or commodity trading advisors.

We do not write the underlying news. We copy titles from third-party feeds. You accept that:

• Feeds can lag, drop items, duplicate, mistranslate, or later correct a headline.
• Our poller, VPN path, Playwright session, or Discord/Telegram send can fail, so an item may never appear or may appear late.
• “Breaking” is only a flag from the source (or our mapping of it). It is not our judgment that an event is true or tradeable.
• Past headline speed or coverage is not a promise of future speed or coverage.

You are responsible for confirming any fact with primary sources before you act. We are not liable for trades, missed trades, or other decisions made after seeing a bot post.

Discord’s privileged-intent form asks why a bot needs Message Content, Server Members, or Presence. This bot does not need those three. The client is constructed with discord.Intents.default(), which leaves Message Content, Server Members, and Presence off. Application code only resolves configured channels and calls channel.send with an embed.

Privileged intents

• Message Content: not used. The client never reads Discord message text. There is no command prefix, no slash-command handler, and no on_message listener. Headlines come from third-party HTTP/WebSocket feeds, not from guild messages.
• Server Members: not used. The bot does not welcome members, assign or inspect roles, ping role lists, or enumerate the member list.
• Presence: not used. The bot does not read online, idle, DND, or streaming status.

What we actually use

• Guilds — resolve the two configured news channel IDs
• Guild Messages — send embeds with channel.send (no member content is read)

Guild Messages (sending) is a standard intent, not a privileged one. We do not justify Message Content with welcome messages, leveling, or invite tracking — this bot does none of that. The dedicated paste pack is on this bot’s intents page. The server-wide matrix is on /legal/intents.

You may not use Nefarious News or its posts to:

• Present headlines as personalized advice, a solicitation, or a guaranteed outcome.
• Scrape, resell, or systematically republish the feed in a way that violates a source’s terms.
• Attack, spam, or impersonate the bot, Nefarious, or the source publishers.
• Violate Discord’s or Telegram’s rules, or applicable law.

Operators may mute, move, or remove the bot at any time. We may stop a source or the entire process without notice.

WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED POSTING, CORRECT TIMESTAMPS, OR THAT A HEADLINE IS TRUE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEFARIOUS AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, ANALYSTS, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR TRADING LOSSES, LOST PROFITS, MISSED TRADES, OR LOST DATA, ARISING FROM THE BOT, A HEADLINE, A MISSED HEADLINE, OR THESE TERMS — EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO Nefarious News WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE BOT IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (typically none; the bot is not sold as a standalone product) OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (USD $50).

Some places do not allow certain limitations. Those limits apply only as far as local law allows. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded (including fraud). This section works with the site-wide limitation of liability and Section 13 of the site Terms.

We may update these Terms by posting a new version at this URL. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update is acceptance. If a change is material we will try to note it on the legal hub.
