Nefarious News privileged intents

Effective September 12, 2026 · Last updated September 12, 2026

Paste pack for Discord’s Privileged Intent form for Nefarious News (application ID 1021496474258911423). These answers match discord.Intents.default() and the newsfeed process. They are not MEE6’s welcome, leveling, or invite-tracking answers.

Do not apply for Message Content, Server Members, or Presence. This bot only sends embeds. Guild Messages (sending) is a standard intent, not a privileged one.

01Intent matrix

  • Message Content — NO. The client never reads Discord message text. There is no command prefix, no slash-command handler, and no on_message listener. Headlines come from third-party HTTP/WebSocket feeds, not from guild messages.
  • Server Members — NO. The bot does not welcome members, assign or inspect roles, ping role lists, or enumerate the member list.
  • Presence — NO. The bot does not read online, idle, DND, or streaming status.

Non-privileged use

  • Guilds — resolve the two configured news channel IDs
  • Guild Messages — send embeds with channel.send (no member content is read)

02What does your application do?

Nefarious News is an operator-run market newsfeed for the Nefarious Discord. The process polls public third-party newswires (Ainvest and Moomoo) and a Benzinga web feed, then posts each new headline as a Discord embed into one or two configured news channels. Ainvest items the source marks as important are also forwarded to a configured Telegram chat. The bot does not read member messages, does not process prefix or slash commands, does not welcome members, does not assign roles, and does not read online or streaming status. Guild Messages is used only to send the embeds we generate.

03Message Content — do not request

If the form still has a Message Content box, leave it unchecked. Paste this if they ask why you do not need it:

We are not requesting Message Content. Nefarious News does not read Discord message text, attachments, or commands. Headlines are fetched from Ainvest, Moomoo, and Benzinga over HTTP/WebSocket. The bot only sends embeds to configured channels. Enabling Message Content would not add a feature.

04Off-platform storage of Discord message content

No Discord message content is stored. We keep configured channel IDs, third-party article IDs for deduplication (pruned after 7 days), and an operator log of headlines we already posted (source, article id, title, timestamps). Those titles come from the news feeds, not from members.
