What does your application do?

Nefarious Congress Tracker is an operator-run Discord bot for the Nefarious trading community. It periodically fetches publicly disclosed U.S. congressional securities transactions (periodic transaction reports and similar public filings under the STOCK Act, as aggregated by third-party public data sources) and posts new filings as embeds in one configured Discord channel. The same public dataset is also pushed to the Nefarious website’s Congress Trading pages for members who already have access. The bot does not read Discord member messages, DMs, or commands. It does not assign roles, does not read presence, and does not scrape the server. Posted embeds show public fields such as politician name, ticker, buy/sell, size range, trade date, filing date, and optional leaderboard rank. Nothing the bot posts is investment advice.

We are not applying for Message Content. The bot never reads Discord message text. There are no prefix commands, slash commands, or on_message listeners. It only sends embeds into a channel the operators already configured. If we later add commands that need message text, we will update the Terms/Privacy pages and apply then — we will not request this intent now.

Message content stored off-platform?

No. No. We do not store Discord message bodies. Off-platform storage is public congressional filing records (politician, ticker, side, dates, size range) used to de-duplicate posts and to update the Nefarious Congress Trading pages. Those records are public government disclosures, not Discord user messages.

• Storing API Data off-platform? Yes — configured guild/channel ids and scrape state. The large store is public congressional filings, not Discord member messages.
• 30 days or less? No. We store configured guild/channel IDs and scrape state so we do not re-post the same filing. We also keep the public congressional trade dataset (not Discord member profiles) until a filing is removed, we retire the bot, or someone with a lawful deletion request asks us to drop a record we control. Discord message content is not stored.
• Deletion contact: Business@nefarious.trading (Business@nefarious.trading).
• Encrypting at rest? Discord requires encryption at rest if you store API Data. Select Yes only if the host volume that holds congress.db is actually encrypted (for example BitLocker, LUKS, or your NAS encryption). Do not check Yes if the file sits unencrypted on disk.
